Both actor Michel Duran and Fashion photographer Marc de Vinci enjoyed some fine moments during their early summer 2017 European trips. One was on the West coast of France near La Rochelle, enjoying what this old harbour has to offer in food and sightseeing during a lifestyle photoshoot in rural Charente Maritime while Marc was busy with Spanish models shooting in Barcelona.

When the two reunited on the slope of North Vancouver that the photographer calls home to prepare a coming shoot featuring the Julbo Vermont Classic sunglasses, they started elaborating on ideas for their next shoot for the Fall. They contacted Fashion stylist Melissa Graf and on August 25th , the three gathered at 10:00am at the Cafe Calabria on Commercial Drive. The direction of the shoot was then decided: two business and two casual looks with a few accessories (watches, leather bag and sunglasses). The location would be a mix of concrete urban and residential with, if possible, some fall colours. The shoot was set to take place September the 14th.
When preparing a shoot, Marc likes to take enough time to feel things out. With the direction in mind, most of the time on his bike, he explores various areas in the city and comes up with mockup images, sending that to the group and adjusting his shot after everybody's feedback.
Finally, the right location was found with a mix of interesting backgrounds both in terms of colour, architecture and landscape.
The day of the shoot the team gathered and very soon found their marks. As everything had been precisely prepared, everybody knew what to do, when and how. The weather was indeed very cooperative and allowed a smooth process logistically wise, with an early morning start and at noon the magical "it's a wrap!". The final step was then in Marc's hands to edit a first batch of photos from which a final selection was done.
