5 easy walks around Vancouver to enjoy the long week-end

Hike #1: False Creek - 9km

This walk follows False Creek. You can choose to stop whenever you want and return to where you start from.

You’ll walk around the False Creek inlet, facing Vancouver Downtown. Super flat. Grandville island is close by with ways to drink and eat!

Hike #2: Jerricho Beach - Spanish Banks

Starting at Jerricho beach, you can park your car in a parking lot. The walk follows the sea shore for 4 km facing the Vancouver bay and the Northshore mountains. Beautiful scenery, there are beaches along the way for you to stop and relax.

Hike #3: Pacific Spirit Regional Park - 4km

The Pacific Spirit Regional Park is located just East of the UBC campus. There are lots of trail. Between University Boulevard and SW Marine Drive the landscape is pretty flat. All the trails are in the forrest, so ideal for forrest bathing. We chose a 4 km loop, obviously you can add more mileage!

Hike #4: Jetty road near Iona island - 8km

Iona island is located near the Vancouver International Airport. When you arrive near the end of the road reaching the Iona island parking lot, you can walk on what’s call Jerry Road, in fact a 4km dirt road going straight in the ocean. You can obviously stop and go back anytime. Best time to do is when the tide is high. Iona island park is one of Vancouver hidden gem!

Hike #5: Queen Elizabeth trails - 3km

Queen Elizabeth Park is located between Cambie Street, 29th street, 37th street and Ontario street. Lots of parking spaces and a multitude of trails to explore. There’s a rose garden, cherry trees blooming in April. On top of that, if you’re a baseball fan, the Nat Bailey Stadium park is right besides on Midlothian Avenue. If you want to explore delicious food the farmers market is all year round during the week end.

On all these trails, you can walk, run, bike, bring the kids.

Remember to take with you a small snack and water to drink!
